Welcome to Holmesville... our 1/2 Multiage classroom! My name is Miss Holmes. This will be my eighth year teaching at Madison Elementary School. I studied at the University of Massachusetts, where I received my Bachelors degrees in Community Health Education and Criminal Justice. An educator at heart, I continued my quest for knowledge at the University of Southern Maine, where I earned my Masters degree in Education.
A love of the outdoors drew me to the Mount Washington Valley about ten years ago. In my free time I enjoy running, hiking, and gardening. Currently, I am training for a half-marathon, as well as hiking New Hampshire's 4,000 footers. There are 48 of them and I've only got a handful left. My pup and trusty companion, Nyx, is always by my side. In the winter, we are often found snowshoeing or curled up on the couch watching movies. Who knows what the future holds... A goal of mine is to learn Spanish and travel to Central and South America. Visiting new places and being immersed in other cultures intrigues me. Another goal of mine is to train Nyx to become a therapy dog and help children overcome difficulties. She would love to listen to stories or learn new tricks. I am always available to talk with you. If you have any questions, concerns, or something positive to share you may call me at school, email me, or write a quick note on your child's homework sheet. I will get back to you as soon as possible. |
