Homework is an important part of learning in school. It reinforces what we are learning in the classroom, teaches responsibility and helps to develop study habits. Homework is sent home four days a week (Monday through Thursday nights). No more than twenty minutes should be spent each night on homework. Homework will consist of a variety of assignments throughout the week (spelling, math, vocabulary, and reading).
Each night I would like your child to read at least 10 minutes. It is important that they read aloud to a family member. It’s great if you spend some additional time reading to them. If homework is completed early, students may read for the remaining time. If homework is taking more time, please let me know. Your child has been provided with a homework folder to help with their organization. This folder should be brought back and forth daily because it will also be used for home/school communication.
